| With the China's economic system reform, rapid development of economic led the process of urbanization in China continue to move forward. This brought about income growth as well as produced a number of related social problems, among them, excessive pressure of urban housing attracted the attention of most people and our government. So, our government began the reform and improvement work on housing security system. They started to implement the low-rent housing, affordable housing and public rental system, and began a nationwide affordable housing construction. However, soon after the completion of affordable housing, new problems turned up. Because the impact of differential rent of land, affordable housing is often built in the remote areas, and the speed of around facilities construction is too slow to keep up with the pace of construction of affordable housing. Due to the above reasons, some affordable housing have the vacancy. Moreover, many experts worried that it will exacerbate the differentiation of residential space in our city with the result that the poor-rich disparities increases and urban slums turn up. After then, the government began a practical tour on the mixed-income housing, but the effectiveness of mixed-income housing practice has different outcomes:some are good while others are bad. Therefore, this thesis made analysis and discussions about the theories of mixed-income housing history, successful experience, mixed-income housing model and other issues.The author made a complete analysis from the following aspects, including:[1] Differentiation of city residential space. Make analysis on the development of China's differentiation of city residential space based on the in-depth understanding of segregation and disintegration of city residential space. Hence, make deduction about the necessity of carrying on the practice of mixed-income housing in China.[2] Review of the development of the theories about mixed-income housing.
