Job evaluation is an important segment in human resources management of the modern enterprise. It is between work analysis and compensation system design. And it is one of important tools that reflect the internal fairness. The result of job evaluation can clearly reflect the relative value of position in enterprise. It is not only conductive to the realization of the internal fairness, but also conducitve to form good culture atmosphere in enterprise.There are four main methods of job evaluation, such as ranking method, classification method, factor comparison method and point method. At present, there are many methods of job evaluation that are widely used internationally, such as the Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation,Mercer international job evaluation method, etc. The Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation contains three 1-class pay elements -- intellectual skill, ability of problem-solving and responsibility, and eight 2-class pay elements. The score of every element could be calculated through the intellectual skill evaluation table, the ability of problem-solving evaluation table and the responsibility evaluation table. Job score (job value) would be obtained by summing the score of every element.In practical application, there are many problems in the Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation, such as its strategy, job classification,weight assignment of pay elements and the calculating method of job value. So job clan is used to reclassify job. In addition, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to improve the calculating method of job value in the Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation,including dividing and defining the pay elements and assigning weight of the pay elements.On the basis, Empirical analysis is done by the example that the modified Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation is used for job evaluation in ST Company. This process contains four steps -- the application environment analysis, the preparation for job evaluation, the implementation of modified Hay Guide Chart-Profile Method of job evaluation and the problems and countermeasures in application. As the important result of job evaluation, job class table could intuitively reflect the types and relative value of all jobs in ST Company. Job class table could shows fairness, and has good incentive effect, so it will become an important basis of the salary system adjustment and promotion in ST Company from now on.
