Research On Enterprise Knowledge Work Quality Assessment System

ABSTRACT:In knowledge economy era, knowledge is an important resource and source of competitiveness of enterprise. Enterprise knowledge work has become increasing important.21st century is the era of knowledge economy, on the other hand, the quality management guru Dr. Joseph M. Juran had predicted, "The 21st century is the century of quality." In the context of the knowledge age, quality should have a broad meaning, including not only the quality of products of various substances, but also the quality of intangible knowledge work. If there are quality defects in knowledge work, it is bound to bring harm to the enterprise. At present, enterprise increasingly depends on knowledge, and knowledge work is increasingly becoming the main source of wealth creation. However, people ignore the study of knowledge work quality. The current management theory has not systematically addressed the problem that how to measure and evaluate the enterprise knowledge work quality.This thesis regarded knowledge work as research object, carried on studying from two respects. One is knowledge products, which are results of knowledge work. Meanwhile, the other one is knowledge processes, which refer to the activities related to knowledge work. It provided a new vision and approach to study knowledge work. First, the paper summarized the research results of domestic and foreign scholars, defined the concepts and theories related to enterprise knowledge work quality, including knowledge, knowledge product and its quality characteristics, knowledge worker, knowledge work and its quality characteristics, quality assessment general principles, the characteristics and requirements of knowledge quality assessment; then, this paper proposed the structure model of enterprise knowledge quality assessment system, clearly explained the elements of the assessment system and its operational mechanism. Following these, the paper detailedly designed each element of the quality assessment system, including assessment purpose, assessment subject, assessment object, assessment criteria and indicators, assessment tools and techniques, as well as the selection and design of assessment procedures. Through these systematic research and analysis, the paper established an enterprise knowledge quality assessment system, offered a feasible approach for evaluating the quality of knowledge work. What's more, to a certain extent, this solved the problem of lacking theory and methods to assess knowledge work quality, and deepened and expanded the research on knowledge work under the background of knowledge economy.
