Ecotourism Suitability Assessment Of Western Sichuan Plateau Based On GIS

Western Sichuan Plateau located In the east adjacent flanges of qinghai-tibet plateau, which is the important component of the qinghai-tibet plateau, has a significant ecological and environmental significance. Western Sichuan Plateau is a typical ecological and environmental vulnerability zones, any unreasonable ecological tourism activities on this area will cause great jealousy on natural environment. Western Sichuan Plateau covered a broad area, the different areas the ecological environment and tourist resource status have certain differences. Therefore the use of reasonable regional ecological tourism suitability assessment method to evaluate and division Western Sichuan Plateau, thus puts forward some ecological protection zoning and measures, that have great significance both on environmental protection and sustainable development of ecological tourism.Firstly, the four factors of regional ecological tourism suitability are extracted from the concept of ecological tourism: the ecological tourism resources, environmental bearing capacity, the fundamental tourism conditions, local social economic status, and the ecological and environmental conditions and the current situation of the development of ecological tourism of Western Sichuan Plateau are analyzed, then the suitable and restrictive factors of ecological tourism in this area are summed up. On this basis, this research constructs a contains 3 elements layer, 18 indexes ecotourism suitability assessment index system. Based on GIS, put 1 km grid as evaluation units, in consultation with relevant experts, analytic hierarchy process determines the index weight, the ecotourism suitability in the study area was evaluated and divided using weighted comprehensive evaluation method in ARCGIS, the evaluation results provide the reference for ecological environmental protection and ecotourism development.The results divide ecotourism suitability for four grades : appropriate, relative suitable, less suitable and not suitable. About 45251km2 is appropriate area, accounting for the total area of 18.7%; relative suitable area is a region of about 70882 km2, accounting for the total area of 29.3%; less suitable area is about 78656 km2, accounting for the total area of 21.4%; less suitable area is about 74072 km2, accounting for the total area of 30.6%. on the basis of the single factor analysis and comprehensive evaluation, the study area is divided into a three levels tourist ecological reserve area: ecological tourism area, ecological cultivation area, ecological protection area, and some corresponding measures is draw up to protect them.
