Research On The Evaluation And Countermeasures Of Coordination Degree Of Regional Economic And Social Development In China

The coordinated development of economy and society is the basis for sustainable development. How to promote coordinated development of regional economy and society is an important subject in the field of administrative management.We make a review of relative domestic and foreign studies though four aspects: the connotation of economic and social development, evaluation indicator system, coordination degree evaluation model and measure, and the evaluation of coordinated development of economy and society in China. On this basis, an initial evaluation indicator system is established through expert interviews and brainstorming method, which includes 60 evaluation index. Using a series of empirical screening methods, such as membership analysis, the correlation analysis and discrimination analysis, the final evaluation indicator system of coordinated development of regional economy and society is established. Then reliability test, validity inspection and canonical correlation analysis are carried out to inspect this index system. Next we use principal component analysis to measure the economic and social development degree of Ningbo horizontally and vertically(1990-2009). Based on dispersion coefficients coordination degree measure model, the transverse and longitudinal coordination degree coefficients of economy and society in Ningbo are calculated.The results show that the coordination degree of economy and society of districts in Ningbo almost present high coordination degree state in 2009, and it has been rising since 1990, from mid-level coordination degree in the seventh five-year period to the current high coordination degree state. Based on the above research, this paper then carries out exploratory analysis of restriction factors of the coordinate development of economy and society in Ningbo, and puts forward some corresponding countermeasures:Speeding up the strategic adjustment of the economic structure, such as developing the new industry and marine economy; Accelerating the construction of ecological civilization; Accelerating development of scientific and technological&giving priority to the development of education; Promoteing full employment; Taking effective measures to control the income gap.The innovation of this research lies in establishing a set of evaluation index system closely tailored to the actual economic and society development of Ningbo through scientific and systematic empirical screening methods and procedures. On this basis, this paper measures the coordination degree of economic and social development horizontally and vertically, and proposes some specific advice.
