Nowadays, automobile industry has been explicitly elected as the pillar industry of the new industrialization of national economy. Since China implemented its reform and opening up policies, automobile industry in China has been developed rapidly. Now China is the world's biggest automobile manufacturing and consuming country. The government has attached great importance to the development of automobile industry. In 2009, the State Council announced the top ten industrial revitalization planning and made automobile industry as part of it. The 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015) points out the development trend for the future auto industry in the future.As one important part of developing Chinese automobile industry, automobile export developed rapidly in recent years. After these years of constant efforts, some national brands haven entered the Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa markets, but the quantity and scale are still very small comparing with the auto power country. In the automobile export developing procession, however, it exposes a lot of problems in recent years. As a whole, Chinese automobile export is still underdeveloped and greatly affected by environment. In the face of increasing intense competition in international market, speeding up Chinese automobile export is of great significance.This paper is based on the existing literature about the export of automobile and applying the theory of international trade. The paper analyzes the status, characteristics and obstacles to Chinese automobile export. On the basis of the above-mentioned contents, the paper objectively, totally and systematically analyses the advantages, weakness, opportunities and challenges that Chinese automobile export facing now. The paper finds out the advantages, weakness, opportunities and threat of Chinese automobile export. And according to these factors, it proposes the corresponding development strategy of Chinese automobile exports by SWOT Analysis.
