Life Cycle Of Virtual Teams Based On Knowledge Distribution And The Path Of Knowledge Transfer

As a bran-new virtual organizational structure, Virtual Team does emerge gradually with the emergency of the new economy and the fast development of information technology. As a rising organizational form, Virtual Team attracts increasingly more enterprises and organizations. However, such kind of structure is still in the developing period. Many aspects of it needs further researching and exploring, especially the research on the theory of increasing the work efficiency by sharing knowledge. Only with its further research, can the structure be developed. Besides that, as the foundation of sharing knowledge inside the virtual team, the state of distribution relates to the degree of sharing and the efficiency of the structure. It makes a great difference. How to make the distribution of knowledge inside the virtual team becomes rational and furthermore advance the creation in the team is the core of research.This study focuses on the distribution of virtual teams and knowledge transfer path. Based on the analysis on the research status of knowledge distribution and knowledge transfer of the virtual team, we can understand the research background of the knowledge distribution and knowledge transfer of the virtual team. hen through summarizing the origin of the internal knowledge of virtual team, knowledge characteristics and knowledge type, and using the life cycle theory to research the knowledge distribution of virtual team in each stage of life, and the how the knowledge distribution effects knowledge transfer in each stage of life. Then, through the research on the characteristics, the dynamic mechanism and the effect factors and process of the knowledge transfer of virtual team to understand the mechanization of the knowledge transfer in virtual team. Finally, as in the process of knowledge transfer in virtual teams, there are differences between the characteristics of knowledge and the diversities of knowledge. So the knowledge in virtual teams can be classified according these two dimensions. And then according the characteristics that knowledge transferring between different individuals and between individuals and groups, a virtual team route choice model of knowledge transfer can be constructed.
