The Integrated Management Research On Hangzhou Moto's MS Production Process

As one of the early-entered giant companies in producing Chinese Mobile Communications equipment, the manufacturing base in Hangzhou of Motorola has already successfully produced over 100million mobile phones. The reason for such great achievements relies not only on the good brand effects of Motorola,but also on the advanced corporate-managerial system, and in the management of production and supply parts, Motorola is considered as the standard in the same sector. As the increasing in competition and costs of labor force, however, if manufacturing industry wants to keep sustainable competitive force, they should learn advanced ideas of industry management to improve their managerial ability on one hand, and combine the features of producing process per se to find the opportunities from the existed producing process, and finally to ensure the advantages of competition through continuous improvement.This essay starts from analyzing the MS'producing process to define clearly the current deficiency existed in producing process and go deep into the sources of this deficiency. Through the analyzing and studying the sources, it hoped that there has a way by which integrates the current producing process to promote the producing efficiency and reduce production costs, and furthermore, to resolve the current problems in producing process. The design of integrating program for the new MS' producing process starts from the integration of goal setting, and goes on the program design through three independent modules of production operations, which are listed as follows:the first module is to merge all the scattered production layout to save the producing space and shorten the transportation distance of raw materials; the second one is to integrate all the independent production lines to lower the production cycle and promote production efficiency; the third one is to realize the successful operations of producing process after integrating through the way of optimizing the primary production management system. The three aforementioned modules will be served as an integrated designing program to implement uniformly by means of trial production in which simulates the new MS'producing process after integrating. Through this kind of trial production, it could be easily to find out the existing problems during the new process and then take proper measures to solve those problems. Finally, it's also necessary to analyses and summarizes the operation state during the new process and makes a fair comment.The new MS' producing process after integrating has the features of lean production. Three features will be introduced. The first one is to promote the production outputs through saving the producing space and shortening the production cycle; the second one is to eliminate the wastes in producing process through cancelling all the activity which has no value added in manufacturing process; the third one is to promote the company's status of cash flow and eliminate the hidden danger of products' quality through cutting down the amount of work in process products and of reserved semi-finished products. This kind of process integrating research which aims at promoting production efficiency and lowering production costs will not only have a great impact on the development of Chinese mobile phone industry from the simply assembly manufacturing to the lean supplying chain, but also make a good model for all the industry which featured with assembly line production.
