A Study On The Construction Of The Innovation City Of Shijiazhuang

In this economic globalization and knowledge economy era, innovation has increasingly become the core driving force of economic development, and an important strategic choice for national and regional development. At present, domestic and foreign scholars have made a lot of research on the meaning of innovative city, the basic elements, evaluation, and operation mechanism and so on. However, the research on the construction of innovative city is still in the exploratory stage at home and abroad, and it has just emerged in China. Under the guidance of one proposal that building an innovative country, many cities have proposed to build an innovation-oriented city. The domestic assessment of urban innovation is mainly based on the data of a particular year which will influence the evaluation results. Therefore, this paper takes the construction of innovation city of Shijiazhuang as the researching object, in reference to a large number of international research in related fields. It is originally based on the theories of urban development, economic growth, and regional innovation to make some further systematic discussion and research on building an innovation-oriented city of Shijiazhuang .This paper is based on the research of the construction of innovation city of Shijiazhuang, discussing the current status of Shijiazhuang's innovation city constructions, complete with its advantages and disadvantages, with the integrated use of literature study, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, specification analysis and empirical analysis and other methods to construct Shijiazhuang innovation city construction's evaluation index system and evaluation model. The paper attempts to get the objectives and ideas of construction of innovation city of Shijiazhuang . On this basis, this paper makes a further propose of the path choices, specific measures and suggestions toward Shijiazhuang's innovation city construction.This paper is divided into six parts. Part I is a general introduction of the research background, significance and status. Part II is a review of the theories of the innovation city and a summary of the typical urban experiences of innovation city construction at home and abroad. In Part III, In the overview of the study, the paper analysizes the status, advantages and disadvantages of Shijiazhuang innovation city construction. Part IV builds a new evaluation system of Shijiazhuang innovation city construction from the innovative elements, the main innovation, innovation performance and innovative environment with the adoption of AHP to evaluate 11 years of innovation in Shijiazhuang City. In this part, we can find the different phases of innovation city development as well.This paper argues that in the years of 1997 to 2006, Shijiazhuang is in the embryonic stages of innovation city construction, and in 2007, it enters the early age of its construction. In part V, the paper proposes some ways and some measures for Shijiazhuang innovation city construction. Part VI is the conclusion and outlook.
