Evaluation And Research On The Regional Competitiveness Of The Costal Economic Zone In Liaoning Province

With the continuous advance of global economic integration, economic development no longer regards an individual city but a large city group as a unit, resulting in larger economic returns of scale between cities. Regional competitiveness stems from the conflict of economic interests involved in overall economic strength, technological culture, opening to the outside world, the ecological environment and urban infrastructure and other aspects. Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone is an important economic factor of Liaoning Province and Northeast Region. It is the forefront and new development portal to revitalize Northeast Region.Under the new development and opening up of coastal areas, it is an inevitable choice for the development of Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone to enhance the competitiveness of the region and to create new economic growth pole of Northeastern Region.This paper selects a national coastal economic zone (taking Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone as an example) as the research platform, basing on domestic empirical research, and with the help of the foreign classic competitiveness model and research methods, to analysis 6 cities in Liaoning coastal economic belt by using SPSS for Windows17.0.The research framework of this paper is divided into five parts: The first part is an introduction, which describes the proposed research background and significance, research status, the contents, ideas of this paper; The second part is the basic theory of regional competitiveness, which overviews the theory of regional competitiveness from the relevant concepts and theories point of view, in order to have a comprehensive understanding of regional competitiveness; The third part establishes a evaluation model and evaluation system of regional competitiveness, basing on the classical studies of traditional model, by using of multiple and fine indicator approach, selecting 22 indicators from five aspects such as the comprehensive economic strength, technological and cultural development, opening up degree, the environment competitiveness and urban infrastructure to build a evaluation index system for the regional competitiveness of coastal economic zone; The fourth part is an empirical analysis of regional competitiveness of the Liaoning coastal economic zone, with the statistical data calculations in 2009 of cities and secondary region in Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone, it reached a conclusion that Dalian is the most competitive city overall area, and Jinzhou, Yingkou, Dandong less competitive, whereas Huludao, Panjin the weakest cities and Dalian makes a leading role for the secondary region; The fifth part is a summary of international experience in coastal development and enlightenment, which listed the success stories of the United States, the Netherlands, Japan, but also China's east coast development model summary, the content is done as practical experience of the bedding for the last corresponding countermeasures;The sixth part, combined status and development needs of cities in the coastal economic zone, basing on the revealing of the existed current regional development issues, the paper proposes countermeasures to improve the sub-competitiveness of the coastal economic belt and Liaoning overall regional competitiveness.This paper has done some integration and innovation on the research methodology of regional competition. But the setting and interpretation of the comprehensive evaluation system may be of inevitable shortfalls, so I welcome and look forward anyone's pointing it out and further study in it.
