Salary design is the prerequisite and important component of modern salary managerial systen. How to design and set up a scientific salary system, which should accord with China's conditions as well as fit and stimulate the development of the enterprises in the time of knowledge economy and economic globalization, is, to the domestic enterprises especially the state-owned enterprises, a brand new and significant task. The following thesis, proceeding from the basic theory, through the analysis of the former salary system of Shengda company, formulates another now design program and discusses all-sidedly the great role of salary management in the development of enterprises.This thesis falls into five parts. Part I introduces the research background, motive, purpose, research, scope, research restrictions and the structures of the thesis. Part II comments briefly on the basic salary theories in Marxist Economy and the Western Economics, and makes a quite thorough research on salary and its essence, characteristics, functions, basic forms etc, which makes up the foundation of the salary system of the company. Part III is a detailed analysis of the former salary system of Shengda company, and points out its great influence on the practical management of the enterprise. Part IV, based on the first tow parts of the research, in the light of the requirement of the practical management, redesigns the salary system of Shengda Company. And the last part, through the research and studies, verifies and evaluates the operation of the new salary system, and therefore, reflects the significance of the salary reform .
