Study On Public Transportation Development In TEDA

As one of the basic municipal infrastructure, public transportation facilities are closely related to our daily life. Symbolizing the development level of a city, they play an important role in the city's spatial layout and its future development. Guided by the principle of"presents a question and then analyze it to finally solve it", this paper, based on the methods of literature reading, in-field study, comparative study and data analysis as well as advanced experiences of major cities in the world, proposes measures of improvement for municipal public transportation. In the first two parts, status analysis and problem finding, the author took enterprises in Tianjin Economic and technological Development Area (TEDA) as key object of the study and obtained large amount of data. He then analyzed the current development status of public transportation in TBNA and successfully found the management problems in this sector. In the part of improvement measures, the author proposed an innovative view of public transportation management through integration and unification of the sector in TBNA, which is elaborated in the aspects of network planning and construction, subsidy policy, establishment of examination and assessment mechanism, improvement of safety management and community's involvement, aiming to provide a reference for policy makers to facilitate the development of this sector.
