With the development of global integration and competitive environment of open network, homogenization phenomenon is increasingly common, and the differentiation is getting smaller and smaller, the enterprise should be rationally planning resource and capacity to create unique values, to form competitive advantage and maintain the performance difference. With the deepening of the transformation and upgrade process and the "economic winter" to come, enterprises should develop different resource-capacity-portfolio(RCP) on the basis of available resources to maintain competitive advantage. In the competitive environment with high uncertainty, the competitive advantage established in static environment has gradually eroded, so our enterprises should integrate, build, reconfigure internal and external competitiveness to respond to environmental changes. On the basis of resources, building capacity-driven enterprises and improving utilization rate of resource is the key to solving these problems. Therefore, from the dynamic enterprise resource based view, this paper uses empirical research and case study to study the influence of RCP on competitive advantage and performance taking our enterprises as application background.Firstly, this paper studies the theory of competitive advantage, especially the literature of resource based view, explores the evolution motivation of the resource based view, and finds that resources, capabilities and environment are important factors that affect competitive advantage and performance. Therefore, hypotheses and questionnaires need to be further proposed from these factors. Based on summary of extensive literature, this paper designs measurement dimensions of factors such as RCP and environment to form the initial questionnaire, and through test and discussion of the sample to constantly improve the questionnaire resulting in the final questionnaire, which provides further assurance for empirical analysis. Secondly, we carry out data analysis and empirical testing after collecting and screening the questionnaire. In this paper, we use SPSS to analyze reliability and validity of the sample data. Since then use hierarchical regression and structural equation model to verify the value, rarity, imperfect imitation of the portfolio and the relationship between organizations and competitive advantage and organizational performance. The results of the study concludes: the value of portfolio of resources and capabilities doesn't significantly affect competitive advantage and performance; scarcity significantly positive affects competitive advantage and performance; competitive advantage has significant positive impact on performance; incompletely imitative and organizational have significantly positive impact on the performance; competitive advantage plays regulatory role between the scarcity of and performance, but the regulation is not obvious; the dynamics of the environment adjusts organizational of RCP and performance, but adjustment is not obvious. Accordingly, the paper presents some of the strategic management advice. Then, the paper uses case study to confirm basic assumptions of the resource based view and empirical results. The successful of Yunnanbaiyao comes from resources and capabilities, their allocation of resources or capability is value, rarity, imperfect imitation and organizational, which not only confirms the above empirical results, but also provides guidance for other companies to gain competitive advantage and performance difference. Finally, based on results of the empirical analysis and case study, the paper combines with the current competitive environment and this research to present shortcomings of the paper, as well as some suggestions for future research.
