Research On Technological Trend Based On Patent Information

This study based on patent database analyzed developing trend of emerging technologies. Technology trend can be examined from the aspects of technology change direction, technology life cycle, technical research hotspot and technical evolution. Currently, there are some research achievements of a certain aspect, but no systematic method which analyzing these problems synthetically yet. Hereby, this paper introduced several main patent analysis methods and how they work in learning technology trend. Then, a systematic evaluation process of technology developing trend based on these methods was proposed. And an empirical analysis was given at last. Facing numerous emerging technologies or technology populations, selecting out next generation critical technologies correctly and scientifically can help each party focus on key technologies as soon as possible to facilitate their progress and improvement which has important practical significance of promoting technological innovative management.
