As an important way for Chinese participation in economic globalization, international trade of agricultural products is essential in optimizing the allocation of resources and promoting modern agriculture. But international trade of agricultural products has run into trade barriers and deficits frequently in recent years. Thus the competitiveness of agricultural products international trade needs to be enhanced urgently. Human capital and technology progress, which have been widely respected by Endogenous Growth Theory provide powerful impetus for agriculture development, rural economic growth, and thus enhance the basis of agricultural products international trade. Under the constraint of resources, human capital and technology progress provide a new perspective for the study of enhancing competitiveness of agricultural products international trade.On the basis of objective reality and related researches of human capital, technology progress and international trade of agricultural products, the goals and threads have been formed. As guidance, the study gets the main contents as follows: reviewing systematically and then learning from the relating theories and researches about human capital, technology progress, international trade and relations between them; defining the basic domain to be studied in this thesis; clarifying the theoretical connotation, measurement criteria of rural human capital, agricultural technology progress and agricultural products international trade; interpreting the relationship between human capital and technology progress; revealing the mechanism of interaction between the three sectors; in the review of objective reality for the rural human capital, technology progress in agriculture and foreign trade of agricultural products, the study tests the relation of the three sectors using quantitative analysis methods in the time from 1985 to 2008. And reaches conclusions, those are, the increase of rural education capital in China is conducive to the development of foreign trade of agricultural products, rural health capital and technology progress in agriculture does not play a role in promoting foreign trade of agricultural products. Based on theoretical analysis and combined with condition of transition process in China, the study probes into imbalance of the relation between rural human capital, agriculture technology progress and international trade of agricultural products, examines the causes for such imbalance, main reasons are as follows: serious loss of rural labor force, the concept of neglecting prevention but over-treatment and low transformation for agricultural science and technology achievements. Then the study puts forward some suggestions in policy against the analysis.
