With the increasing refinement of social division of labor, more and more family are employing housekeepers. However, household service industry is not standardized, small-scale, non-professional. The contradiction between demand and supply in household service is increasingly acute. To ease this contradiction, Shanghai government established household service industry association in Shanghai in early 2009, mainly for promoting household service markets self-regulation in Shanghai. However, since household service industry association in Shanghai established, the industry association has many problems in its development. This thesis analyzed the problems in development and the causes of these problems, and give reasonable advice to help industry associations in promoting the regulation in market.Based on the research of literature and the household service market in Shanghai, this thesis analyzed the main work content and methods of household service industry association in Shanghai. The problems of industry association are the industry association cannot clean up the businessmen in household service market; failing to adequately represent the interests of association members; lack of an effective means for comprehensive evaluation the businessmen in market; difficult to build up the standard development. The thesis analyzed the various causes of the problems, and gave some suggestions. First, reduce the standards of membership, developing much more members. Second, keep hot link between with industry association - member units - training institutions, and carry out flexible training courses. Third, establish a comprehensive evaluation network platform of household service. Fourth, undertake the administration of government functions in order to promote the regulation of the household service market.Through the implementation of these suggestions, household service industry association in Shanghai will take more important role in the development of the household service market, and promote the household service industry self-regulation level.
