Most enterprises agree that information technology (IT) can help built their core competence. With computer networks, enterprises have operated their office efficiently and effectively all day. Electronic business system, paperless office, Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), network meeting system, remote control system, all these things increase the enterprises' efficiency, cut their cost, and make them more competent.But the enterprises' intra-network operates based on cable, which limits the desire for flexible office and mobile business. With the popularization of the notebook PC, more and more people want to access the Internet for the on-time information as in their business trip when they stay at airport or in hotel. And other people may prefer to do their work in a comfortable place, such as in the cafes, bar, and so on. They should be provided with a flexible Internet-access service to make them get the information they need anytime and anywhere.Lots of telecommunication and wireless computer network technologies available now, such as 3G (the third generation), bluetooth, etc. can fulfill the needs stated above. The Wireless LAN1 (IEEE 2 802.11b) won the comparison among them because of its' low-cost, broadband, technology maturity, standardization, and widely supported by most manufacturers.Wireless LAN has been deployed by many countries to construct the Public Service Network around the America, Europe and Asia, to satisfied the needs for high-speed, reliable and standard computer network access service beyond the desk, which can help people connect his private network or the Internet flexibly anytime and anywhere. And now, with the explosive increase of business traveler and the popularization of personal digital terminals such as notebook computer, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), etc., the market of the wireless broad-band internet access service has shown its large potential in the mainland of China.Mobile Office - the wireless broadband Internet access service launched by China Netcom removes the constrains of network lines and telephone lines, which means that customer can achieve safe high-speed access to the Internet and his company's intranet.
