As the development of the market economy, the market is becoming dynamic and changeable with the fierce competition and shortened product life-cycle. Therefore, it is an important task for the Iron & Steel Company to enhance the development of iron & steel company and the company's competition capacity by simulation technology. Meanwhile, simulation is a tool to develop, test and maintain the system to shorten the development life-cycle, improve the product quality and save research cost. Therefore, it is necessary and important to research the Iron & Steel Company's production logistics simulation. The iron & steel production holds the characters like complex processes; various arts and crafts; combined single and continuous procedures, which is a typical complex engineering system. It is helpful for enterprises to solve the bottleneck and critical path problems, optimize the operation of production and schedule solution and rule the materials management stipulation by logistics simulation and management, in order to increase the utilizing rate of equipments, improve the product quality, save energy and decrease the cost.Firstly, this paper proposed a systematic solution for production line's logistics simulation and management based on current requirements. With the help of eM-plant simulation platform, we developed a simulation and management system aiming at the multi-function product line, which integrates the production process models, simulation, logistics simulation and training.Secondly, the simulation system's primary design, which includes system's architecture and the functions design, operation procedures, and database's information model were accomplishedThirdly, the key technologies were researched including the visual production line model and parameter simulation technology, the dynamic simulation technology based on figures refurbish, the new product forecasting simulation technology and the materials management technology.Finally, the application case study of new product's forecast and analysis, bottleneck analysis, operators'training, and the material management rule are introduced.
