Nowadays the high-tech agriculture has been a new center which offers the primary growth for the economy. Its competitiveness now is a key criterion for measuring the comprehensive strength of a country or a region and their ability to keep a sustainable development. So each country or region has put the high-tech agriculture on a salient strategic place to develop it. With the speedy advancement of modern science and the fierce competition in the industry, it becomes a must to have international or cross-regional co-operation if a strong competitiveness of the industry is to be achieved.Based on a statistically analysis of the data used, the writer wants to verify the respective advantages and their mutual-complementariness of the high-tech agriculture and its progress each side in Fujian province and the Taiwan Island, so as to expose the possibility of co-operation in this field from the both sides and the direction of the progress. It will be of help for the government in policymaking and properly guiding the cooperation.There are 3 parts in this article: Part One concerns the status quo of the high-tech agriculture in both areas; Part Two is an illustration of the existing problems in the industry from both sides; Part Three offers somes suggestions on the policy for the co-operative development in high-tech agriculture industry between Fujian and Taiwan.Taking a close look of the study of the competitiveness of the industry in the two areas, one can find there is already some achievement. However, the study is mainly qualitative or based on some indexes to indicate the competitiveness of the industry in the two areas. Then the existing problems will be pointed out and the corresponding resolution will be suggested. The achievement from the above ways has been qualitatively and methodologically helpful for this article in offering some background information which can be referred to. But the existing study is not free of questioning. It appraises the competitiveness mainly from one certain aspect or a certain perspective. There is no systematical and comprehensive evaluating methods and system. Furthermore, it observes from a static point of view and lacks a dynamic analysis and prediction. These are what this article would like to make a breakthrough.
