As the competition in global market is increasingly drastic/fierce and the continuous enhancement of consumer's expectancy, the market competition in digital times has changed from traditional precedence competition mode to time precedence competition mode. And the quick response is becoming the focus in supply chain competition in digital times. The core thinking of quick response is to shorten the lead time in response to consumer's demand. To shorten the lead time, especially cut down the operation time of the whole supply chain is an effective way to improve the operation performance of supply chain.J Company is a typically large-size state-owned electronic manufacturing enterprise inland. Since its comprehensive environment is not so good and the customers' demands of lead time are more and more urgent, J Company always insists on its production organization mode as MTO and SKD final-assembly. At all times, the main components, including plastic, plate, main board and remote control, which have important effect on the performance and cost of the DVB products, are purchased from Shenzhen. Under this production organiztional mode, it is an important and longstanding subject for J Company to concern about how to shorten the lead time in SKD purchase.This article has analyzed the current situation of the purchase lead time management in J Company.
