Nowadays, the eco-tourism has been growing at an incredible speed in many countries and regions and becoming a contemporary trend for tourism development and management in the world. The transmission area between high plateaus and gorges where Mt. Nianboyeze is Located, belongs to the headwaters area of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, and this defined region is also an important component of the exotic scenery area as well as grassland inhabited by Tibetan in Southwest Sichuan Province. Therefore, it is vitally important to have positive research on eco-tourism product and resources development and to conceive an advanced exploitation pattern in terms of eco-tourism in the mountainous regions. Catering to the needs of economy development in the southwest region, the research and exploitation pattern mentioned above will also help realizing the sustainable tourism and better protecting the tourism resources, while also make full use of it.This thesis takes the Mt. Nianboyeze as a case to study. After introducing the regional geological background and environment, it focuses on the formation of the physiognomy and scenery as well. Then it goes to take efforts to find out the features of the abundant tourism resources. After analyzing the tourist market and considering the successful experiences of eco-tourism exploitation and development from both at home and abroad, this thesis also touches on tourism product design of the defined area, and provides an eco-tourism product exploitation pattern in the mountainous region, which will help carry out a theoretic and practical example for bettering China' eco-tourism development in the mountainous regions.
