Geological Tourism Resource's Exploitation And Plan

Tourism has become a strong developing industry. Its existing and developing source is notonly what people demand but also how attractive the tourism resources are. In order to maketourism resources and products more attractive, it is necessary to reasonably develop and plantourism. Therefore, to develop and plan tourism scientifically is very important for improvingattraction of the tourism resources and products and maintaining sustainable development oftourism areas.To develop and plan tourism resources involves in a great deal of spatial data and attributedata. How to manage and use these data and how to develop and plan tourism resources moresoundly are crucial problems needed resolving. Geographic information system (GIS), aninformation technique, has powerful abilities to deal with spatial and attribute data and to store ahuge number of data. Therefore, applying GIS to tourism resources must be a good choice ereare some advantages by using GIS into tourism development. It will be veracious for datacollection, more objective and accurate for evaluation of tourism resources, more intuitionisticand easy for information inquiry, more scientific, convenient, precise and beautiful for mapcomplication.Shanwang national geopark in Shandong province is one of the third set of nationalgeoparks in China. The geological remnants are the Miocene stratum and fossil specimen's relic.Shanwang is the only area that has diverse lives and whose fossils are kept pretty well in EastChina This geopark, even rare in the world, is an important site for studying the Miocenecreatures, palaeogeography, palaeoclimate, biological evolution and stratigraphic correlation, andhas significantly scientific and cultural value.Therefore, how to develop and plan the Shanwang national geopark becomes the basic issueof park construction. Based on basic theories, characteristics of tourism development and plan,GIS, and MapInfo software, this paper did researches on the Shanwang national geopark fromthe following aspects: data collection of tourism resources and database construction, evaluationof the tourism resources, map compilation of the tourism plan and inquiry of tourism information.Using this new technique will make the Shanwang national geopark have more scientific andreasonable development and plan of the tourism resources will optimize the relationship betweentourism products and the development and plan of tourism resources, will promote thesustainable development of the tourism, and will develop, protect and make good of the nationalprecious geological remnants.
