Study On Countermeasures And Theoretical Analysis About College Student Unemployment In China During Present Stage

With the abnormal development of the scale of enrollment in ordinary higher education in China from the year of 1999, the first rate of college employment is declining while the number of unemployed college students is becoming more and more. The increasingly apparent problem of college unemployment is becoming the synthetic problem, affecting the reform of higher education, the development of economy and the stability of society. So, it is necessary to have a further study and discussion about the phenomenon of college unemployment in China during present stage.In order to analyze the phenomenon of college unemployment in China during present stage and put forward some correspondent countermeasures and suggestion, this paper mainly refers to the relatively mature theoretical model about unemployment based on economics and educational economics from the western countries and combines the state of China.The introduction part firstly describes the phenomenon of college unemployment in China from the point of first rate of college employment and poses the problems. Then it analyzes the background of college unemployment, including international background, society, economy and education. Finally it defines several basic conceptions in this paper.The second part defines several important conceptions in details, including employment, college employment, unemployment and college unemployment.The third part firstly empirically analyzes the relationship between the first rate of college employment and GDP and the number of graduates of ordinary higher education based on supply and demand, and describes the influence of the change of demand and supply in employment market on college unemployment. It turns out that the phenomenon of college unemployment will last for long. Secondly, this part measures the present condition of college unemployment in three indices: first rate of college employment, the situation of graduates who want to have further study, the rate of overeducation. Thirdly, this part analyzes the characters of college unemployment, such as the whole unemployment is long-term while the individual unemployment is temporary, the unemployment is universal but more relative, the educational level of the unemployed college students is becoming high and high.
