Study Of The Factors Affecting Employment Of College Students In China

As an important subject of economics study,the employment and unemployment of college students is an important issue the society focuses on.The higher education in China has developed rapidly and completed the transfer from "elite" to "popular",the number of college graduates will reach historically high of 7.49 million in 2015.With the deepening of employment reform in higher education,the employment of college students has become comprehensively market-oriented,a new employment mechanism which is"market-oriented,regulated by government,recommended by college,students and companies choosing each other" has been established.However,under current comprehensively marketed employment mechanism,due to the reasons of economic development,education system and students themselves,despite that government pays great attention to the employment of college students,there are still many college graduates who cannot get employed smoothly and the unemployment problem of college students is gradually emerging.The number of college graduates gets higher and higher,the most difficult year to get employed appears again and again.The employment issue of college students is getting more and more serious,and the unemployment of college students has become a hot topic with social concern and discussion.The unemployment problem of college students has caused loss and damage to students themselves and also to their family,beside,the unemployed group as well brought unhealthy impact to the society and economy.Therefore,applied economics theory it is of great significance to analyze the cause of the unemployment of college students.This thesis has analyzed relevant researches on the unemployment of both domestic and foreign college students,and introduced the unemployment situation of college students in China.The thesis has drawn lessons from foreign theory and research results on unemployment of college students,made classification on unemployment types,explained the causes of colleges students unemployment in detail and analyzed the affecting factors.In this thesis,the unemployment types of college students are classified into structural unemployment,search unemployment,voluntary unemployment and ability unemployment.In the meantime,the specific factors causing unemployment include system factors,total factors,economy factors,students themselves and market factors.Based on analyzing the specific causes,the following methods and suggestions are brought up.Firstly,government need to promote economic development,optimize industrial structure and provide more employment opportunities to college students;moreover,government also needs to formulate scientific and reasonable policies and investment programs in higher education.Secondly,colleges should take market as guidance,improve talents training mechanism and adjust the arrangement of disciplines and majors.Thirdly,as for the college students,they should continuously improve the comprehensive quality and take initiative to meet the requirements of employment market.
