The quality of manager is the most important factor for the enterprise keeping success. The competition of the enterprise is virtually the talent competition. Weather the talents obtain high quality of competence that the enterprise need, determines the enterprise's constantly success. Nowadays, scholars and entrepreneurs paying compliments to the problem of the managers'competency. Therefore, what criteria we should adopt to select enterprise middle managers and how to train them have attracted more and more attention from human resources experts and organizational behavior specialists.In this dissertation, the researcher at first summarized theories on competency and its models, discussed the origin, definition, research methodology and structure of competency, and then gave a retrospect of the research findings and latest research focuses pertaining to competency both home and abroad.At second, the researcher selected superior managers as subjects from enterprises or companies in the Shapingba district in chongqing province. Interview and questionnaires have been used to explore the required competencies for the superior managers. The both quantitative and qualitative methods have been applied to analyze the related materials.Then, we analyzed the data which gathered by questionnaires by a statistics software SPSS11.0. we focused on the analysis of the factors that compose the competences, and our research finding as following: the preliminary model on competency for superior managers in Shapingba district has been established, including three parts:Personal part: ability of communication, degree of maturity, aspiration after success.Management part: professional responsibility and judgment, problem solving ability, ability of control and plan.Organize part: recognition of organization, updated thoughts, ability of decision making.
