Research On Core-Member Selection Of Technological Standard Alliance In Information Industry

In information industry, as a style of strategic alliance, technological standard alliance exists widely in reality, but the theoretical research on it is rare. In the past studies, scholars share the viewpoint: how to choose suitable alliance members is one of the most important factors which influence the success of the alliance. Therefore, after defining the technological standard alliance, this paper makes a deep research on core-member selection of the alliance from the perspective of the alliance founder.The research needs to absorb the former study achievements about this area. These former studies include the research on member selection of the general and the specific form of strategic alliance, the economic theories which affect the beginning and the development of technological standard alliance in information industry, the research on technological standard competition, and the research on technological standard alliance. These achievements enlighten some tasks in this research. These tasks include the design of the core-alliance-member selection process, the division of the core alliance business, and the design of the index system.The selection process designed in this paper emphasizes the project-management feature of the process, and the importance of dividing the core business so as to decide the scope of the candidate enterprises.
