Research On Appraisal Of The Relationship Between Port And Regional Economic Development

Studying the history of all the port cities' development, we found that the cities near water became thriving as ports developed. Development of economy of the city where port is located can be promoted rapidly by the port, and the economy of hinterland can be extremely enhanced by the port too. There is a close relationship between port and the region where port is located. The relationship between port and region is based upon that between port and city. It means the relationship among port, city and region. In future, along with the uninterrupted growth of the market economy, it is necessary to quicken the unification of regional economy. Port will play a growing important role in the development of regional economy. Therefore, it is vital to measure the port's contribution to the growth of city and regional economy scientifically.The dissertation analyzes the new trend which has been exposed during the interactive development of port and regional economy. On the basis of the analysis, the evaluation model of the valid development between port and regional economy is set up to discuss whether port and city or port and region have developed reasonably and effectively upon the new trend. And making use of the model, the law of the interactive evolvement between port and city is exposed.
