With the progress of global economic integration and domestic economic development in recent years, especially after China's entry into WTO, local auto manufacturers are facing even more severe challengers in auto market, so that more and more makers shorten their new product R&D project life time to fasten the launch of new car type. Car makers all over the world are facing the similar situation.Siemens VDO Group (SV) is a key account of Siemens Transportation Group, it is one of the major automotive electronic device suppliers all over the world. SV have many locations nearby the major auto manufacturers globally, and get excellent evaluation from all end users with respect to advanced technology, hard work, competitive price and good after service. SV have big share in the global auto-electronic market. The major principle of SV is "Supply Value" for customer.SVCC was founded in 1995 and is one of four locations that SV invested in China. The major products are automotive Electronic Control Unit(ECU) and the original customer is FVW and SVW, some products are also exported to Europe and Japan. With the development of Chinese auto market, SVCC developed more products and customer. The customers of SVCC not only include auto makers in Europe and Japan, but also include most of domestic engine company, system supplier and car manufacturer.To meet the requirement of shortening project life cycle from customer Mazda Japan, the duration of Mazda ACU project need to be shorten accordingly. Project progress management is becoming the core of all other aspects during project management. In the meanwhile, Mazda ACU project is implemented under multi-projects background, the team spreads over Germany, China, Japan and Romania, there are some difficulties to make project progress management. Based on above mentioned predictions, I made study on how to improve project progress management in this article.Project quality, progress and cost make up of the basic elements of project, and the balance-off of cost, progress and quality is the key point of progress management. Project progress management, is to manage progress of all sub phases and project deadline during project implementation phase.
