After the entrance to WTO, agricultural product of China will become more closer to the economic globalization on a higher level and in a broader sphere than before. Facing the opportunity and challenge, as the dominant province of China in agriculture, it is meaningful for the HeNan province's agriculture development to strengthen the international competitiveness of agricultural product.International competitiveness is an ability that one country or one company harmoniously produce more wealth than its competitor in the international market. Comparative advantage and competitive advantage are the basis of international competitiveness theory. The international competitiveness theory of agricultural products conform the common competitiveness theory, at the same time, it has its own feature. Its influence factors contain resources and other factors. The export of agricultural product in Henan province is little. Through the analysis of large land, abundant labour and suitable climate in Henan province, it is concluded that the comparative advantage is more evident than the competitive advantage . There are some reasons for this. First, plant products industry hold the big part of the agriculture industry. Second, the quality of agricultural products is too bad to suit the international markets requirement. Third, the industrial organization is decentralized and the produce cost is not reasonable. At last, the action of the government is not enough to support the agriculture. The dissertation suggests to improve the international competitiveness of agricultural product in Henan province by setting up the agent of market management, decreasing the cost of farm produce, optimizing the rural industrial structure, adjusting the protective policies of government and reinforcing the building of quality standards systems.
