A Research On The Red Jujube Industry Development In Yulin

Jujube tree, planted widely in our country, is a special economic tree in our country. It already has a cultivation history of planting Chinese jujube for more than 3,000 years in Yulin prefecture. It is seen in 12 counties here, especially in the six counties along the Yellow River. The red jujube is the predominant industry in our city, it almost has become farmer's all economic income. The main task, under the situation of the new village reconstruction, is to adjust the industry structure, develop the particular and efficient agriculture in order to increase the farmers'income and their life standard. As the characterized agriculture, how to develop the jujube industry quickly is one of the major tasks to adjust the agriculture structure in Yulin prefecture.The paper analyses the present situation, trend of the jujube industry in China and abroad, and the conditions of the jujube industry development in Yulin area. After the survey of the jujube kinds resources, growing, producing, management, storing, processing, and service system in Jiaxie, Wubao, Qingjian counties along the Yellow River, the paper concludes that the key elements which restrict the jujube industry development are as followings. First, the jujube kinds should be improved urgently because there lacks the varieties of the kinds, the original excellent kind is degenerate, which has low yield, poor quality, and is not suit for the industrialization development. Second, The jujube producing and management is in simple and extensive form, which leads to the uncertainty of the jujube quality. The quantity of it is unsteady and is often affected by natural disaster and plant diseases and insect pests. Third, The jujube trees are scattered which is beyond the large scale development. Forth, the jujube fresh keeping, storing, deep processing are not in place. It has not reached the market needs. Fifth, The lagging information makes the dull sales of the products. It is lack of the competitiveness and occupancy in the market. Accordingly, the paper has following proposals to solve the problems. First for most, it is necessary to introduce and cultivate the improved type of the jujube seeds. Second, the farmers should be instructed to grow jujube trees together in large areas. Third, intensive management should be adopted so as to improve the quantity and quality of the jujube by means of improving labor sources, material and financial support. Forth, the deep processing of the jujube products and varieties of the products should be emphasized in order to obtain more economic benefits. Fifth, the good sales system should be established to realize informationalzed management. More ways of selling the products should be used to sell it both in domestic market and also in overseas market. Last, a perfect science and technology supporting system and l system should be set up. The government should provide the science, technology and financial service to make sure that the jujube industry can be developed quickly and beneficially.
