China's entering WTO shows that Chinese banking will participate the process of economic globaliazation, and the coming of foreign capital bank brings severe competition of the domestic financial markets, presents a challenge to the survival and development of China's commercial banks. In what direction should the reform of China's state commercial go? where are the areas of growth in tens of economic benefit ? This thesis points out that the vigorous development of intermediary business , which is a way for China's state commercial banks to broaden business scope , increase revenue , and market share , is a realistic and inevitable solution.Since the beginning of the 1990s, intermediary business has seen rapid development and has been playing an increasingly important part in modern banking business in western countries , as well as a good"weapon"for creating more business and revenue. Comparing with Chinese capital bank , foreign capital bank has a obvious superiority , such as advanced technique , high quality human resource , global business network , plentiful experience of international business and the ability of risk control.In the nowdays , although some intermediary businesses have been conducted by China's commercial banks , they are limited in form , scope and profit. At the same time , they are hindered by traditional ideas , improper institutional setup, and lack of qualified professionals, China's commercial banks are still experiencing substantial difficulties in developing intermediary business. How to make use of opportunity to development intermediate business is becoming the urgent task of Chinese capital bank. The aim of this article is to renew our point of the intermediary business and reconsider its positive effects through analyzing the practical situation of international commercial bank. Moreover , commercial banks must make some management system , organizational structure , marketing and financial innovation.
