On The Development Of Industrial Parks In Chong Qing From Clusters Perspective

Industrial park represents a major and effective form to develop regional economy in many countries. Since China's opening up, various industrial parks and zones has been built up nationwide by adopting this development form. The establishment of these industrial parks has greatly enhanced our integral level of opening up, developing and adjusting ability of industrial economy. However, when developing traditional industrial parks, some problems also arise, such as lack of originality, imcomplete industrial chain, inefficient share-out and cooperation system, etc. Industrial clusters, an special form of organization which is useful to coordinate the regional resources, can be used to guide the development of park-economy, which has great theoretical and practical meaning to better competitive advantage and continuous development of park-economy. This thesis is based on the studies of theories on industrial cluster and industrialparks. Firstly, through literature review, it involves a detailed retrospect of the establishment and devolvement of industrial parks and clusters, the relationship between the two different industrial forms. Secondly, through qualitative and inductive methods, it classifies the influencing factors of industrial parks in clustering way and the key factors of developing advantages of industrial clusters into ten factors at three levels. Basic means are proposed to develop industrial parks in clustering way on the basis of the relationships between these factors. Thirdly, based on the theoretical studies, it analyzes the current situations and problems of the development of industrial parks in a clustering way in Chongqing, which has its own characteristics but also some problems, e.g lack of originality, imcomplete industrial chain, inadequate industrial foundation, etc. Finally, from the practical situation of Chongqing economy, countermeasures are put forward to develop industrial parks in clustering way in Chongqing.This thesis has two originalities. One is the research perspective. It starts from the relationship between industrial parks and industrial clusters rather than from the traditional pespective, i.e. a case study by analyzing the limitations of influencing factors. The other is the reseach contents. Rather than adopting longtudinal but horizontal methods, it clasifies the influencing factors of park-economy in clustering way into ten factors at three levels, and proposes the basic means to develop park-economy in clustering way.The development of Industrial Park involved politic, economy, society and so on. This article has only carried on the analysis from Clusters Perspective. The development of Industrial Park depends on the strategic choice and all kinds of necessary measures, many questions will wait for further exploring in the later.
