A Study On The Knowledge Process Project And Its Process Model

Along with the development of the practice of project management, the numbers of project that based on knowledge craft process growing day by day. It is becoming a significant, independent type. But the classic theory of project management is first developed in construction and engineering field. The projects that based on knowledge craft process cannot be managed felicitously with classic theories and methods. Complexity theory and agile project manangement theory provide new perspective from which we can observe these projects.This paper first developed a new typology of project according to the difference between the product and the craft process of project, and then advanced the concept of Knowledge Process Project (KPP) and its meaning. According to this typology, projects can be classified to 3 species: Knowledge Process Project, mixed process project and craft process project. The comparison of Knowledge Process Project and craft process project also has been given in this paper and we analyzed the characteristics of KPP too. This paper studied the agile process and organization Change-Tolerance process from agile project management theory and complexity theory perspective. The organization Change-Tolerance process described the process of advance of the veracity of organization goal and the validity of organization product. Then we conceived the process model of KPP: Agile Change-Tolerance model. This model uses the true deeds of customers as the project goal; the core process of this model builds up with agile process and organization Change-Tolerance process. The management activities of company have been treated as exterior influences. Some important process factors have been studied to deepen the understanding of KPP process and it also enriched the contents of Agile Change-Tolerance model.
