With the rapid development of Chinese economy,China has become one of the largest markets in the field of industrial products in the world,and China’s manufacturing industry has become an important part of the global value chain.In the 14th Five-Year Plan of the State,it is emphasized that "innovation-driven development should be adhered to and new advantages should be shaped in an all-round way" to strengthen the national strategic scientific and technological strength and enhance the technological innovation capacity of enterprises.It pointed out that the focus of manufacturing industry is to drive development through innovation,and the core position of innovation in the development of manufacturing industry is defined clearly.In the increasingly fierce international competition environment,how to establish the sustainable core competitiveness of enterprises through innovation is an urgent problem for many manufacturing enterprises to solve.The success of the new product development project is not only an important expression of an enterprise’s innovation ability,but also an important way to help the enterprise establish sustainable competitive advantage.This paper takes the new product development project management process of NS Company,a leading enterprise in liquid ring vacuum pump industry,as the research object.First of all,the theory of NPD process management and domestic and foreign research literature were systematically reviewed,and the theory of NPD process management including Gate management,Agile management,Agile-Stage-Gate hybrid management,innovation diamond model,D-A model,process reengineering as well as the theoretical system and development trend related to project management system were understood.On this basis,the industry format and enterprise format of NS Company are analyzed,and then the status of NS Company’s new product development project management process is analyzed,and the key issues in the management of new product development project are summarized and analyzed.Then,according to the features of NS Company,such as product characteristics,organizational structure and corporate culture,the new product development project management process of NS Company is integrated with the strategic planning of the enterprise,and the new product development project management process of NS Company is optimized.Finally,a relatively scientific,reasonable,agile and applicable new product development project management process system was established through the adjustment of organizational structure,optimization of assessment indicators,risk analysis,implementation safeguard measures and improvement of document planning,and the implementation and verification were carried out.The optimized new product development project management process system not only solved many problems in the original new product development project management process,improved the success rate of NS company’s new product development project,but also increased business revenue,optimized product structure,and finally improved customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.Through the implementation of the new process system,the enterprise culture of innovative thinking has been initially formed,which helps the enterprise gradually establish the sustainable core competitiveness.The research of this application has obtained three innovative points.Firstly,the process management system of new product development based on innovative diamond model is helpful to the success of enterprise new product development and the realization of enterprise strategic goals.Secondly,the Agile-Stage-Gate hybrid management theory has a positive correlation to the traditional manufacturing new product development project management process.Finally,D-A model theory has certain application value for enterprises to choose the appropriate management mode,which can help enterprises to judge which mode is more suitable for their own development.
