This thesis thoroughly studies on the die development project. We adopt the project management method to study the die development cost and schedule control and attempt to carry on the accuracy control to the die development project. With this method, the project can be controlled in schedule throughout the die development cycle.This thesis took a whole consideration of the die's cost and schedule control. Use the earned value analysis method to monitor actual cost and schedule situation. Compare the actual situation with the project planning regularly. Considering other possible changes, take the essential correction measure and update project plan. Forecast if the cost surpasses the budgets when the project completes and the schedule is ahead or behind. Thus guarantee the three terms of the accumulation plan cost, the accumulation actual expenditure cost and the actual schedule be synchronous.Through the breakdown made to the die development project, use Microsoft Project software to make the die project development project's Gantt chart and network diagram. Find out that the plates'machining cycle has a very tremendous influence to the die development project cycle on the critical path. Then we carry on the statistical analysis to the existing die plate length and propose to standardize the plate according to plate length distribution Pareto Chart. Making a rough pre-machine to the plate by series may further shorten the die development project cycle. The cost also can be reduced. Thereby enhance the new product's competition in the market.
