Competition strategy is an overall plan of one firm for survival and development under the dramatically changing environment. The paper, employing the qualitative as well as quantitative approaches and the empirical analysis methods and based on the theories of competitive strategy, core competence and Porter's five forces model, conducts a research on the development strategy of the subject company named S in order to provide the scientific support for the company's decision-making.In this paper, the PEST method, Porter model and EFE matrix are adopted to analyze and evaluate the macro and industrial environment for the purpose of finding out the opportunities and threats the company is facing, and the methods of resource dependence analysis,kernel ability identify theoretical model and IFE matrix are used for the internal environment evaluation in order to identify the company's strengths and weakness. Through such a SWOT analysis and applying QSPM matrix, the paper determines that the competition strategy of the company S is cost-effective strategy, with satisfaction of difference melt as complementary. As to the implementation of the competition strategy, the following measures should be taken: to reform corporate culture in order to fit the strategy; to establish an effective market-oriented organization structure;to reinforce cost control and reduce operation cost; to strengthen the information process of operation and management; to improve service quality and achieve the brand effect; to perfect human resources management; and to conduct strategy control and continuous improvement.The results of the paper is expected to be of important reference value for the operation of company S and could be generalized to other airlines especially those regional ones.
