Study On Development Strategy Of Logistics Of Qingdao Port

The GENERAL PLANNING OF QINGDAO PORT passed by the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal Government in April, 2006 has brought new chances for Qingdao Port, and promote its port-based logistics to a new developmental stage, which makes the analyses of its inner conditions and outside opportunities and challenges more and more necessary and urgent. From the point of Sustainable Development of Qingdao Port logistics, the author has researched about the internal conditions, the external environment, the development goal and the developmental strategy choice of Qingdao Port.First, it analyses internal conditions of the development of port-based logistics of Qingdao port,including the aspects of cargo throughput, terminal layout, distribution status and cargo catching.Secondly, it analyses its external environment including the status of international, regional and hinterland economy and their effects on port-based logistics, domestic and overseas main ports' port-based logistics' development trends, and the existing technical and policy status of Qingdao Port.Then, using SWOT model analyses the development of port-based logistics of Qingdao Port. The port owns advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges facing the outside,achieves advantages-opportunities, inferior-opportunities advantages-threaten and inferior-threat combination of the four strategies.Also by external and internal factors evaluation matrix evaluate Qingdao Port's port-based logistics' internal conditions and external development opportunities.Finally, it uses tertiary index smoothing forecasting method to predict the future cargo handling capacity and the container handling capacity of Qingdao Port ,identify development objectives, the development of strategic options.
