| The growing rate of economic and trade of the Pearl River Delta ( PRD ) Zone is the fastest and activitiest area in China.Because of the economic reforming and opening, the economic and trade growing in PRD areaas well as the container transportation developes have been growing with a fast growing area, where is the place ever arising in the world. The container transportation network has been formed in PRD zone. In the network, the Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Humen, Foshan and Huizhou Port etc. are the lateral river ports, while Guangzhou and Shenzhen Harbors are the trunk line, the Hongkong Harbor is the international ocean transportation center and hinge of Asia, the role of Singapore Harbor is the international ocean transportation center and transshipment transfer of the Southeast Asia, and the Shenzhen and Hongkong Harbor is complementarity support of each other. The container terminals throughput increases from 1990's 143 thousand TEU to 26.62 million TEU in 2006, the growing rate is 38.6% per year. From 2003 to 2006 onward, the Shenzhen Harbor is always the second big volume port in China and the fourth big port in the world in rank. The growing tempo of the container transportation is so sharply and surprisely that have drawn many scholars and experts pay widely attention on this development in this area.This article analyze the port facilities condition and macroeconomic circumstance of container transpotaion deveopment in the PRD zone. On the basis of statistics data, it found a Logit model, which is suitable to used to forecast the container terminals throughput. By using Demand-Supply model, it analyzes the character of demand and supply in the PRD zone. By Game Theory, it analyzes the game equilibrium of the port and regular ship corporation in the container transportation market. As a resit of analysis, there is amplitude development with ample volume of the container transportation in the Pearl River Delta region. |
