The research about the Pearl River container transportation development is of great significance for the promotion of container transport from the Pearl River Basin along the coast further inland trade, speeding up the restructure regulation of the island river transport, the development of the Pearl River shipping productivity, and to enhance the capacity for the national economy.This paper first reviews and analyzes development process, transport status and development trend of container transport in the domestic and abroad inland river, then has a comparative analysis of the Pearl River container transport market factors from the economic environment, competitive methods and problems.On the basis of these the paper analyzes the capacity and volume of the Pearl River container transport market and predict the Pearl River inland container volume and cargo.The results show that the future demand for container transportation in the region will show a rapid growth.Large capacity shipping market will promote changes in the structure, which requires small and medium sized shipping enterprises in the Pearl River region to a modern logistics enterprise restructuring, while the traditional land-based transport companies will be attracted into the Pearl River shipping industry, the paper presented related measures on these two issues, and an example for demonstration.
