The Research On Layout And Optimization Of Express Enterprises Urban Sites

Express is antecedence of trade, switch of value, and accelerator of economy. As the important part of logistics industry, express is becoming vanguard and exemplar of third-party logistics, and penetrating increasingly to various fields of society and economy. There exist not only development opportunities but also significant competitive challenges for Express enterprises. Now the sites layout has become the core of competition among express enterprises. And the reasonableness of it affects greatly their capability for of market competition and sustainable development.Through actual practice and case analysis method, this paper wants to seek the best form and general law about spatial distribution of sites' amount and layers of express enterprises. Literature research established the theoretical foundation about the principles, standards, models and processes of layout and optimization of express enterprises urban sites. Then we analyze how to achieve the optimization of sites layout, based on the case of A express company in urban Beijing. And then, the date contrast before and after the optimization confirmed the effectiveness and efficiency of optimization. Main conclusions are as follows:1. Commercial areas and livable area should be preferred in sites layout of Express enterprise networks, with the sites amount is declining and layers are increasing from inside to outside. Sites layout in urban agglomerations brings express enterprise the economics of scale. Sites with higher layer always lie in suburbs or rural areas because of ground rent, and the lower level sites are often distributed intensively in downtown. This is the key difference of layout between Express enterprise and other service industries.2. After optimization, in networks of A express enterprise in urban Beijing, sites amount is increasing, services radius is reducing, effective coverage rate rising sharply, and operating indexes is improved remarkably. It shows that the expansion mode and the layer adjustment model should be give priority in express enterprise network optimization at current stage, and that the split method has the most effectiveness concretely.
