Tacit Knowledge Sharing After Mergers And Acquisitions

Research on the post-merger integration has been conducted in five aspects. including strategic integration, organizational integration, human resource integration, cultural integration and financial integration. However, in knowledge economy times. knowledge sharing is a motive of mergers and acquisitions and the acquiring enterprise may lose competitive advantages if it can't share the knowledge of the acquired enterprise. Therefore, it's necessary to share knowledge, especially tacit knowledge after merges and acquisitions. Through literature research and theory deduction, this thesis set up a system of tacit knowledge sharing after mergers and acquisitions.The tacit knowledge sharing process after mergers and acquisitions were divided into three levels and four phases. The three levels of tacit knowledge sharing were individual level, team/department level and enterprise level. The four phases were tacit knowledge identification, initiation, communication and integration. The three levels and phases of tacit knowledge sharing are realized through the tacit pattern and the explicit pattern.The influencing factors of tacit knowledge sharing were put forward and divided into two types. One was the types of merger and integration deciding whether tacit knowledge should be shared and which tacit knowledge should be shared. The other included the factors of individual, organization, information and communications technology and corporate culture.The mechanism of tacit knowledge sharing after mergers and acquisitions was built in six aspects, which were credit, motivation, job design, management support culture and information and communications technology.
