Based on previous researches and the findings of site visits to the Recycling Economy Park in Fuyang, Anhui, this thesis analyses the theoretical basis on which the Eco-Industrial Park is built, and three different operation modes of the Park, with an aim to promote the development of the Park in question. The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 starts with the concept of Eco-Industrial Park, and goes on introducing the background, significance and originality of the present study. Chapter 2 closely studies the background of sustainable development as well as the philosophical and technological basis of building the Eco-Industrial Park. Emphases are laid on the relevance between the sustainable development and the principles for building the Eco-Industrial Park, as well as a comparison between the industrial system and the ecological system. Chapter 3 deals with three different operation modes of the Park, and, by taking the Eco-Industrial Park in Fuyang as an example, studies the problems in the Park, especially regarding the recycling chain, the analysis of material and energy flow, the system integration of material, energy and water, the function planning and supplying system. Chapter 4 clarifies the constraints for the development of the Park and puts forward countermeasures in this regard. The thesis ends with a summary of the present study, and suggests perspective research areas. |
