At the turn of the 20th century, competition becomes stiffer than before with the development of society which results in heavier stress on people. Excessive stress will not only lower the quality of life, but also affect the efficiency of the team. Therefore, how to manage the stress is one of the essential problems in human resources management.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a systematic and long-term welfare project for employees designed by the organization in order to solve their problems in psychology and behavior caused by excessive stress. It proves that it is efficient in those aspects and is helpful to improve the efficiency of the organization. In recent years, it has been introduced in our country with the exchange of culture and establishment of foreign-invested enterprises. However, a particular mode of EAP adapted to our country has not been established because of different cultural backgrounds and concepts.The present thesis investigates theories of stress management, analyzes the stress, its sources and reaction modes as well as its influence upon the organization and employees. Meanwhile, it discusses feasibility and urgency of the application of EAP in our country on the basis of the analysis of the current psychological state of Chinese, mixture of traditional and western cultures and promotion of the organization.The thesis divides the construction of EAP suitable for China into four parts: the expected goals, the fundamental factors of EAP, the general mode and the basic steps of EAP. Finally, the present writer both demonstrates the feasibility and validity of EAP connected with its superiority in human resources management and aid services of protecting employees from difficulties, and illustrates the main content and practice of EAP by a project of Ienovo's customer service which is the first sample in the mainland.
