With the strengthening of economic globalization and international competition, enterprises are facing increasingly fierce competition. To improve its competitive edge, enterprises must improve different aspects of business. Purchasing management is the guarantee of supply, and an important source of profit. It plays a vital role in the product development, quality assurance, and overall supply chain management, so enterprises must strengthen purchasing management, especially improve supplier management. The thesis analyzes the supplier management practice of M company, discuss supplier cost, quality, delivery management, and study the assessment & selection of suppliers, day-to-day management of suppliers and risk management, then put forward the effective measures of continuous improvement.The full text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter analyzes the development of the purchasing company, that the successful purchasing company will develop global purchasing, and will become supply chain organizers and managers.The second chapter discusses the supplier management M company faced, and supplier management will help decreasing costs, reducing inventory, stable quality, and optimize resources supply.Through the analysis of supplier selecting and assessing strategy of M purchasing company, the third chapter introduces the supply resources development strategy, the approach of developing suppliers, the establishment of selecting procedure, measure of setting assessment index, and supplier breakdown management. According to the value and risk of the products than M company purchased, the supplier will be broken down into four types, strategic type, key type, politic type, lever type, and put forward relevant management model.The fourth Chapter made a depth research from supplier cost management, quality management, delivery management to continuous improvement. M company use target cost measure to reduce cost, including other cost reduction strategy, price discounts, industry groups gather and joint purchasing. Total quality management has been introduced to change the traditional quality control mechanism. Through establishing control flow, setting critical control points, the supplier delivery management has been realized.The final chapter analyzes the supplier risk of M purchasing company, and gives the corresponding measures to prevent, reduce, transfer and avoid risks. I hope that this paper will help similar purchasing companies to upgrade the level of supplier management or use for reference.
