Immense changes in the business environment have been caused the economicglobalization and rapid development of technology. In this dynamic environment, theavailable cycle of strategy is sharply compressed. The target of enterprise' strategyhas been turned from "enduring competent advantage" to "endurance of competentadvantage". Academicians and enterprisers rifely consider that strategic flexibility isjust the capability of enterprise to adjust and respond timingly for fitting thevariational environment. So it is of age significance to do the research of effectmechanism of strategic flexibility to enterprise performance under dynamicenvironment.This dissertation developes an effect mechamism model of strategic flexibilityto enterprise performance and tests hypotheses involving in the model by usingquestionair as a research instrument based on the reviews of past literatures. In theprocess of survey, sample firms are related to various industries, scales and propertyrights. I totally sent out 300 questionairs and got back 238 ones in which 178 areaviliable. Then this dissertation demonstrates the effect mechanism of strategicflexibility to enterprise performance by using the method of Structure EquationModel based on tests of reliability, aviliblity on samples and applicability on model.The synosis of the effect mechanism is like this: the strategic flexibility is composedby four oganic parts which are resource flexibility, competence flexibility, structureflexibility and culture flexibility. Enterprise performance can be divided to fourcausality lays which are finance, client, operation flow and learning. Resource flexibility has significant positive effect to finance lay of performance and negativeeffect to operation flow lay. Competence flexibility has significant positive effect toboth client and learning lay of performance. Structure flexibility has significantpositive effect to both client and operation flow lay and negative effect to finance layof performance. Culture flexibility has significant positive effect to finance,operation flow and learning lay of performance.Finally, this dissertation does a further study on the modulatory effect ofenvironment dynamics to the effect mechanism and strengthening of strategicflexibility based on enterprise performance. In the research of modulatory effect, thisdissertation confirms the theory assume which states the promote effect of strategicflexibility to enterprise performance is stronger in high dynamic environment than inlow dynamic level. And study on the strengthing of strategic flexibility answers thequestion of feasible approach to strengthing and how to choose strengthingapproaches.
