The Industrial Cluster Upgrading In Global Value Chains

With the development of globalization, local industrial networks characterized by geographical agglomeration of economic activities are being embedded in global value chain. So the upgrading principle of the industrial cluster become the focus of the scholars.This paper on the base of a investigation to 82 PC industry companies in Dongguan, analyzes the condition and problems about the Dongguan PC industrial cluster from those 4 aspects: product upgrading condition; value chain upgrading condition; corporation network position upgrading condition; and effectiveness upgrading condition. And get a conclusion that the PC companies in Dongguan have 4 main problems: the shortage of R&D investment; backward of the production of key components; lack of owing brand; low level of management etc. Through the factor reduction to the regional industrial cluster upgrading index and influential factors with SPSS, the paper finds the main index are corporation capability upgrading index; network position upgrading index; value chain upgrading index and relation and flowing out effectiveness upgrading index. And the first most important factor is the investment of R&D, then the environment of the Dongguan PC industry,qualities of the labour and the condition of the labour supply, the corporation capability is also and important factor to contribute to the upgrading of Dongguan PC industry cluster. For there are correlations between the index and factors, the paper does the correlation analysis between them and finds out how the factors contribute to the index . At last, the paper gives its advice to how to realize industrial cluster upgrading effectively.
