Tourism attraction is the basis of tourism exploration and the objective requirement of sustainable development. Based on the model of ecological footprint, combined with the ecological consumption and its structure character of tourists, this paper leads tourism ecological footprint model into the assessment of sustainable tourism attraction. We have discussed the concept of ecological footprint and founded the calculating models including transportation, shopping, food and beverage, accommodation, sight-seeing, tourism waste and water. The TEF(Tourism Ecological Footprint). accounts are divided into two parts: the ecological supply of biologically productive areas(or Tourism Biological Capacity, TBC) and the demand for nature Through applying equivalence factors and yield factors to the actual areas in hectares of different land types, the EF calculations normalize biologically productive areas in"global hectares"(world average productivity) across regions and area types. Thus we can aggregate the TEF into one number: the biologically productive areas(expressed in global hectares) required by a given population, and so does the BC. Then by comparing the adjusted EF with the adjusted TBC, whether there is ecological deficit or not can be find.Yabuli international Ski Resort, Heilongjiang province was taken as an example, and we calculated and analyzed the tourism ecological footprint of Yabuli international Ski Resort according to the time-trend data from 2001 to 2005. The results showed that:(1) the tourism ecological footprint per person decreased slightly by about 0.06178hm2 from 2001 to 2005. the total TEF of it is amounted to 535089.3hm2(global hectares) in 2005, which is 0.79% more than that of 2001, and the resorts faced the ecological deficit of 1.48344 hm2 in 2001, amounted to 1.42863hm2 in 2005, which overstepped the ecological capacity.(2) The TBC of The resorts was decreasing from 2001 to 2005, the range of which is less than that of TEF, so the resorts possessed relatively potential capacity.(3) There existed structural malposition between demand for TEF and nature's supply(TBC); bioproductivity of pasture and forest were low but their actual areas were large, and the area of CO2-absorbing land was relatively large.Compared with other domestic studies about TEF, the significant characters of this study are as follows: firstly apply TEF model to assess tourism resorts sustainability; in order to correct the static faults of TEF Model, study adopted time-trend data(2001-2005) to calculate TEF and got good results. Furthermore, the study systematically analyzed and enriched the overall Tourism Ecological Footprint Model, and discussed the further studies on applying TEF model to assess sustainable development of tourism resorts.
