Because of severe market competition nowadays, many organizations choose implementing management information systems such as ERP to enhance their benefit and competitiveness. Yet, in fact, a great part of them fail to achieve original goal in this movement. Many issues from software/consultation and enterprise, especially at the process of implementation, are in the way of ERP projects' success. This paper studies how to implement ERP successfully through effective project communication.Under such a background, this paper, firstly, lists and classifies all the problems at ERP implementation alter summarizing previous literature and experience. Then, points out four communication issues behind these problems, including neglect communication, conflict of interest, inconsistency of potency and responsibility as well as communication skill.Secondly, this paper puts forward a communication management design for ERP project. This design involves the top-down order of communication between ERP project team and manager, staff from enterprise; the process and countermeasure with regard to three kinds of communication: knowledge and emotion communication, elimination conflict; the role design of manager and staff for effective communication; the advantage and disadvantage of all communication channel applied in ERP project.On the above basis and consulting existing ERP implementing methodology, this paper further studies the communication activity and tactic through all the course of ERP implementation. At last, an application example of ERP at Shenzhen GuiLian Co. ltd is given to show the function of project communication on ERP implementation.
