City tourism competitive power is one of the criteria of comprehensive competition among cities. Its promotion can't merely depend on increasing the attraction of special tourism resources, but lies in the cooperation of the tourism elements. As one of the three pillars of tourism, hotel industry has great impact on the promotion of city tourism competitive power. On the basis of some related material and surveys as well, the thesis mainly expounds the development of Chengdu's hotel industry from the perspective of the promotion of city tourism competitive power.This thesis consists of six parts, including foreword and conclusion. The foreword is about the study background and values. Chapter One delimits the city tourism competitive power and its related concepts, then gives analysis and valuation of the current situations, characteristics as well as the problems of the study on it in China.Chapter Two researches on the relation between hotel industry and city tourism competitive power, then analyzes the main factors that influence the development of hotel industry as well as the importance of hotel industry to promote city tourism competitive power, and furthermore points out that hotel industry play a significant role in economy, culture and tourism image to promote city tourism competitive power.Chapter Three analyzes the present condition of the development of city tourism and hotel industry in Chengdu city, then points out that Chengdu city has become a tourism destination from a transfer station and there are some aspects to be further improved for the development of Chengdu's hotel industry.Chapter Four points out Chengdu city must promote its city tourism competitive power to achieve further development. Then it analyzes some conditions of Chengdu's hotel industry put forward by city tourism development and the significance of developing Chengdu's hotel industry to promote city tourism competitive power; and furthermore analyzes the tactics of the development of hotel industry in Chengdu city from the perspective of the promotion of city tourism competitive power.The conclusion part gives a simple summary of the whole thesis.
