| Since the star rating system was established,the star hotel industry has gradually become the window industry of urban development and the main body of modern service industry in cities.The guest room is the core product of a star hotel.It is the carrier that provides accommodation services for customers.Room revenue accounts for more than half of the total hotel revenue.Whether the hotel room price is reasonable is related to the success of the hotel operation and the overall image of the city.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the hotel room price.Based on the differences of macro and micro influencing factors,the price of a star hotel room was divided into a base rent and a variable rent,and the concepts were defined respectively.This paper took the 50 major cities monitored and counted by the China National Tourism Administration from 2010 to 2016 as cases,analyzed the time variation of the star hotel base roomrates in each city,the spatial differences,and the differences caused by the city administrative levels,and then took the economic development level,the urban area,the city administrative level and the fixed-asset investment of the star hotel as the control variables,studied the impact of the city scale and the tourism economic scale on the star hotel base roomrates,and established a panel data model.The main research content and conclusions are as follows:(1)There are differences in time,space,and administrative levels for the star hotels’base room rates of 50 major cities.From a time point of view,the absolute differences of the star hotels’ base room rents in various cities rose during the fluctuation,while the relative differences decreased first and then increased.Based on the changes,the star hotel base roomrates in different cities can be divided into five types.From a spatial point of view,the difference in the star hotel base roomrates between cities is significant.And at the same time,there is a regional difference.That is,the star hotels,base room rates in the eastern region are significantly higher than those in the central and western regions,however,the differences between the central and western regions are not significant.In terms of grades,it shows the pattern of "the highest rent in municipalities,followed by sub-provincial cities,and the lowest in other cities”.(2)From qualitative analysis and quantitative verification,there is a strong correlation between the city scale and star hotel base roomrates.That is,the larger the city scale,the higher the star hotel base roomrates.At the same time,there is also a strong correlation between the tourism economic scale and the star hotel base roomrates.The bigger the tourism economic scale,the higher the star hotel base roomrates.(3)From the panel model,the city scale and the tourism economic scale have positively affected the star hotel base roomrates.With other variables unchanged,the city’s population increases by 1 percentage points,the star hotel base roomrates increases by 0.084 percentage points.With other variables unchanged,the city’s tourism revenue increases by 1 percentage points,the star hotel base roomrents increases by 0.003 percentage points.Judging from the control variables,the economic development level,the area where the city is located,the administrative level and the fixed-asset investment of the star hotels all have positive impact on the star hotel base roomrates.There are two innovations in this article:First,on the basis of distinguishing macro and micro influencing factors,the price of star hotel rooms was divided into the base rent and the change rent,and the concept and relationship were explained.Second,on the basis of the fact that "different cities have different star hotel base roomrates",the reasons for the differences in star hotel base roomrates are sought from the perspective of the cost,the relationship between supply and demand.Attempts are made to study the relationship between city scale and star hotel base roomrates and the relationship between tourism economy scale and star hotel base roomrates and to explore the role and impact of them on the star hotel base roomrates.Then take the economic development level,the city’s area,administrative level and star hotel fixed asset investment as the control variables,a corresponding model was constructed and the robustness of the model was tested. |
